About Me
My journey in holistic therapies began over 15 years ago, back then my life revolved around working in the corporate world. I explored beauty therapy first part time primarily concentrating on massage whilst still working full time.
Through my studies I have gained numerous other treatment qualifications and worked with companies such as Dermalogica, Elemis, St Tropez, FakeBake, Crystal Clear, CND, Nouveau lashes and Lycon to name a few.
In 2005 I decided to learn more about Massage and travelled to Thailand to study Thai Massage at the Wat Po Traditional Medical School in Bangkok. This experience opened my eyes to the eastern way of healing the body. The teachers spoke little English so we were taught massage techniques by using pressure points methods, visuals and touch. This way of teaching was truly amazing as we learnt by how the body responded rather than what we are told.
When I returned to the UK it soon became apparent that not all westerners enjoyed the intensity of the eastern traditional Thai massage. The reason is it focuses on working deeply on the meridian lines which can sometimes be quite painful. I went on to complete a conversion Thai Yoga massage course in 2006 and now incorporate both Swedish and Thai Massage depending on my client’s requirements.
Whilst travelling around Asia I became more conscious about my wellbeing, and soon realised that the more fresh foods I ate the more energy I had! My skin became clearer and my eyes and nails were healthier plus I dropped in bodyweight...result!
I began to research more about the effects of healing the body by consuming herbs, fresh juices and superfoods, what I discovered fascinated me immensely and led me to complete my first 7 day Juice programme in 2007.
Since then I have incorporated juicing into my daily regime.
Broadening my knowledge on how food could help to heal the body became increasingly important to me, in early 2013 when my mum was diagnosed with Cancer. Throughout her treatment we experimented with lovely juices and snacks to help boost her immune system. Unfortunately mum passed away in June 2015 but I made a promise that I would continue with my passion to help others by educating them on benefits of movement and diet.
I have now added Natural Juice Therapy to my qualifications. This course is accredited by the CMA (Complementary Medical Association) It covers an in depth amount of information on Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Nutrition and Juice Therapy.
I was introduced to Pilates by a friend who recommended I tried a class after complaining about lower back pain and have not looked back. Having tried every high impact class you can think of I loved the results gained from Pilates so much so I decided train with Body Control Pilates to become a teacher. I am currently working towards my Level 4 Pilates qualification and have also attended courses in Pre and Postnatal pregnancy and the Intermediate mat repertoire. I love teaching my clients functional movement and seeing them progress from week to week.
